Juan Madrid is a photographer and book artist based in Western Massachusetts and the Hudson Valley of New York. He earned his BFA in Professional Photographic Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology and was the lab manager at the Center for Photography at Woodstock. He has worked as a freelance photographer for clients including VICE, Bloomberg Businessweek, Topic, and Society Magazine (France) and teaches workshops centered around zine and bookmaking. He is one of the founding members of the publishing collective Los Sumergidos, whose first collaborative photo-text book Los Sumergidos was shortlisted at PHotoESPAÑA and Les Rencontres d’Arles in 2019. He is a founding member of the community arts collective GAUCHE.
